The creation of a new scholarship called The Comstock Park High School Tribute Scholarship was announced by the 1961 graduating class at its 50th reunion on Homecoming , October 7, 2011. This fund with future participation of the community, school and other past graduates of CPHS, will award a deserving CPHS graduate a scholarship to attend Grand Rapids Community College and pursue a college degree. It will be a need based scholarship. The CPHS Guidance Office will oversee the application and selection process and the GRCC Foundation will oversee the receiving and the receipting of donations and apply the funds directly towards the recipient’s tuition statement. The first award will be made in the spring of 2012.

If you are an alumnus of Comstock Park High School or someone that is interested in making a donation to help fund this scholarship, feel free to send a check made out to : The Comstock Park High School Tribute Scholarship and send it to:

High School Reminders
State Law Addressing Graduated Driver Licensing
The Michigan legislature recently approved changes to the state law addressing graduated driver licensing, placing new restrictions on teen drivers.  Effective March 30, 2011, the nighttime driving restriction for new drivers with a Level 2 graduated drivers' license (GDL) is 10:00 p.m.  In addition, drivers with a Level 2 GDL cannot have more than one passenger under the age of 21, except if the passengers are members of the driver's immediate family -- or if the trip being taken is to or from school or a school-sponsored event.
