Children ages three to five years old, whose families reside in Comstock Park Public Schools and who have been evaluated and found eligible under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act may be enrolled in the program.
Services may include screening and evaluation to determine if the child is demonstrating delays in areas of development. Speech Therapy may be provided in either the classroom or in a small group outside of the classroom for children who have speech delays. Classroom Programs are available to provide specialized instruction and therapies (physical therapy, occupational therapy, social work) that are designed to enhance the growth of preschoolers who have identified needs.
Classroom Overview
A qualified and nurturing staff and a warm, stimulating environment are two major components of our ECSE program. We follow a curriculum that supports children’s individual rates of development utilizing developmentally appropriate practices that enhance social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development. Family collaboration is also an integral part of the program. We believe that families are our active partners and are always welcome in our school. A variety of parent activities are planned to increase the family's effectiveness in dealing with the unique needs of their child.
