What Type of Programs Do We Offer?
We believe that early childhood education is an important part of a child's experiences. Our preschool classrooms balance structured with non-structured activities. Activities are varied and will include individual interest (blocks, puzzles, toys, etc.), group activities (listening to stories, using rhythm instruments, listening to music, dramatic play, etc.) and special activities (snack time, language development, field trips, etc.). Our program gives your preschooler the opportunity to explore, create, and interact while learning to feel comfortable in a school routine.
What Classes are Available?
3-Year Old Preschool $760/year ($380/semester or 8 payments of $95 each)
Tues/Thurs 9-11:30, Tues/Thurs 12:30-3:00
4-Year Old Preschool $920/year ($460/semester or 8 payments of $115 each)
Mon/Wed/Fri 9-11:30, Mon/Wed/Fri 12:30-3:00
Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP)
This is a tuition-free preschool program offered for residents of the Comstock Park Public School District. Families must meet 2 of the 24 criteria (listed below) and children must be 4 years old on or before December 1, 2009. Classes meet Monday-Thursday. Slots are determined by funding from the state. AM session is 8:45-11:45am.
Transportation is provided.
Risk Criteria
*Low birth weight (5lbs 8oz or less)
*Substance abuse or addiction
*Parental/sibling loss by death or divorce
*Language deficiency or immaturity
*Physical and/or sexual abuse or neglect
*Family history of delinquency
*Diagnosing handicapping condition
*Chronically ill parent/sibling
*Destructive or violent temperament
*Family history of diagnosed family problems
*Family history of low school achievement or drop out
*Nutritionally deficient (ex. Obesity, small size for age, food allergies) |
*Family density
*Single parent
*Low family income
*Unemployed parent(s)
*Teenage parents
*Incarcerated parent
*Developmentally immature
*Lack of a stable support system or residence
*Housing in rural or segregated area
*Non-English or limited English speaking household
*Low parent/sibling educational attainment or illiteracy
*Long term or chronic illness (ex. Asthma, allergies, ear infections) |
